ABOUT THE STUDY GROUPS

We believe that educating ourselves around issues of sustainability is important. Whether a book study group or one of Northwest Earth Institute's self-organized eight-week courses, we encourage people to come together over discussions of sustainable living.

The Sense of Place group was an inspiration to us all. In our experience, we found that Sense of Place is a powerful focus, and that an automatic understanding of the importance of it developed instantly. People began bringing their knowledge and awareness of their place to the group, where we realized how much and how little we knew. The Sense of Place study group gave us some guidence on how to live artfully and fully in our place and the friendships that developed as a result of the group are also cherished.
